Genuine Hardcore Gaming Versus Casual Gaming

What are gamers? A gamer is any person who plays video games, namely computer or console video games, online multiplayer games, role-played games, card games, and generally plays for more than six hours at a time. Some gamers are so competitive that they compete intensely in some games for prize. Others prefer playing games with friends or people they know. But, not all gamers spend their free time actively engaging in gaming.

Some gamers were tagged since July. This is the month when game developers took the liberty to include biographical data about gamers, including their age, sex, interests, and hobbies. This information was gathered through a system of surveys that the said companies called ” Gamestop” and “eCogu”.

These survey questions may sound straightforward enough, but there are many complicated aspects that only an avid gamer can easily understand. An avid gamer is basically someone who has played video game for more than thirty minutes daily or weekly. For some, thirty minutes is not enough. For some, it may be even less. So, the actual question in the main article is not how many gamers there are, but how many hardcore gamers there are.

For the sake of accuracy, this article should also mention those gamers who play primarily on online multiplayer video games. They are often referred to as “retrogamers”. The question may be: how many casual gamers have a passion for playing computer and video games? Now, if we put the question in another way, how many hardcore gamers do you think there are? In short, the answer to the question should be: not as many as your average gamer.

If you find any gamer who does not spend his or her gaming time playing World of Warcraft, you probably know how addicted they are to this particular type of computer and video game. World of Warcraft is not the only massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) today. Some gamers, even those who barely missed their days working in a job, devote themselves to playing MMORPGs. Their daily dose of entertainment software allows them to escape into a world that is so real to them. It is this type of hardcore gaming that the gaming industry refers to as “Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game(s).

When it comes down to it, there are many hardcore gamers and many casual gamers. Which would you prefer? I am quite sure that you will not agree with me if I say that you would prefer hardcore gamers over casual gamers.
